This unit requires a wiimote to operate. For Guitar Hero, you must put the wiimote in the guitar. For Rock Band, you use a separate wiimote to control basic game functions.

1. I AM PLAYING GUITAR HERO AND ITS NOT WORKING.

Please change the switch from "RB" to "GH".

2. I'M TRYING TO PLAY ROCK BAND, BUT THE SWITCHES AND THUMBSTICK ON THE GUITAR DON'T WORK!

The chrome switches and the thumbstick located near the wii remote only work when you are playing Guitar Hero, and when the wii remote is plugged in. You don't have the wii remote plugged in when you play rock band, so, they don't operate at that time. You must use a separate wii remote to operate the basic game functions.

3. IN ROCK BAND, IT SEEMS LIKE THE GUITAR IS NOT SYNC'D RIGHT. I KEEP MISSING NOTES!.

Hold down the green fret button on the guitar while a song is starting. If the green fret bar indicator on the screen stays solid, you have a good sync. If it blinks, then you have a bad sync. Unplug the dongle from the Wii and plug it back in again. re-sync the guitar. Try the fret button test described in the first two sentences again.

4. HOW CAN I TELL IF MY GUITAR IS ON?

If you don't see blue LEDs around the strum bar, then, your guitar is not operating. You may have to change the batteries. Please look in the gap between the strum bar and the housing, the LEDs may not be visible in bright daylight.

Please note that if you do not have the dongle plugged in, or the wii remote is not inserted into the wii, THE GUITAR WILL ONLY POWER ON FOR 1 to 2 SECONDS. This is while it checks for a signal. This is a battery saving feature.

5. IN ROCK BAND, MY GUITAR WON'T POWER ON.

You need to have 2 AA batteries installed for the guitar to work during "Rock Band". Please check these, or put in new, higher quality batteries.
